Celebrate sunrise on the longest day of the year by walking to the highest point of Exmoor for a yoga practice as the sun rises, followed by a cup of chai as we relish the beauty all around us!
The celebration of Midsummer – marking and honouring the changing seasons, the turning of the wheel, is a tradition far more ancient than yoga!
Dating back to a time before science gave us the understanding we have today, it comes from when we prayed that the sun would return each year and we honoured and worshipped this life-giving ball of fire.
Today, while we have greater knowledge of ‘why’ and ‘how’ this all works, we forget to feel the awe that is ignited when we allow ourselves to connect with the Earth and all her beauty!
Summer Solstice Yoga
Dunkery Beacon
Wednesday 21st June 5:30 – 6:30am
(Meet at 5am to walk to Dunkery!)

Meeting at 5am at Dunkery Hill Gate, we’ll walk together to the Beacon – the highest point on Exmoor.
Our practice will be an hour of fabulous yoga, including Sun Salutations – and as many pauses as you want to just look around you at how marvellous Earth is!
Stay after yoga for chai and a snack as we sit together before we head down the hill to return to our every-day lives!

While it’s super early – getting up to share this practice once a year is totally worth it!
I find myself carrying the memory of these shared moments like a smile in my heart!

“Very many thanks for yesterday. I never dreamed that I would be greeting the summer solstice with yoga in a Somerset field!” Amanda Elliott, Solstice 2022
